Four New Domain Names Registered for Call of Duty
Sun May 16, 2010 9:51 pm by TSS Greenwood
The Call of Duty franchise is going places. Really. The future, space, you name it.
Activision has been busy registering domain names for not one, not two, not three, but four new “[something] Warfare” titles.
The registrations, spotted by superannuation, suggest the publisher has plans for Future Warfare, Advanced Warfare, Secret Warfare and Space Warfare-branded Call of Duty titles, one of which, the betting man in me says, may be the one Activision’s recently-founded Sledgehammer Games is working on.
Each of the titles may be turned into three-game releases as well as the registrations include domain names like futurewarfare2.com, futurewarfare3.com etc.
There are no actual details on the games themselves of course, but thankfully the titles alone are somewhat self-explanatory.

So what Activision essentially did was register these names just in case they are actually going to make them. It seems more than likely that these games will soon be a reality, but for now these names are basically like patents so that no one else can steal them.
